Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian says the Islamic Republic will strive to thwart all plots hatched by the enemies.
EghtesadOnline: Millions of Iranians are participating in 22 Bahman rallies across Tehran and over 1,400 cities, celebrating the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
The annual 22 Bahman march, commemorating the victory of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, kicked off in Tehran and across the country on Monday morning.
In a speech on the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution at Tehran’s Azadi Square on Monday, President Pezeshkian said the Iranian people expelled tyrants and oppressors from the country on this day 46 years ago.
“The philosophy and secret of our victory and success is unity, cohesion, and the presence of the people on the stage,” he said.
The president said that all the people of Iran moved with strength, cohesion, and unity, and successfully cut off the hands of foreigners from the country.
“The enemies seek to create division and discord to instill the perception that Iran has been weakened, but with the prudence and wisdom of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the presence of the people on the scene, their dream will not come true,” he said, adding, “The Iranian people have stood firm against bullying, and the enemies’ conspiracies will not succeed.”
Iran, Pezeshkian continued, will resist all of the enemies’ conspiracies under the leadership of Ayatollah Khamenei. “They will take all of these dreams and aspirations to the grave.”
“They call us terrorists yet they themselves are the terrorists,” he said, adding that Iran is, rather, a victim of terrorism.
Pezeshkian to Trump: ‘Why these follies if you wanted talks?’
Elsewhere in his speech, Pezeshkian dismissed U.S. President Donald Trump’s claim that he seeks talks with Iran, pointing to Washington’s simultaneous efforts to undermine the Islamic Republic.
“Trump says he wants to negotiate, yet at the same time, he signs and announces every possible plot to bring the Islamic Revolution to its knees,” Pezeshkian said, referring to the revival of Washington’s “maximum pressure” campaign against Iran.
Pezeshkian further dismissed U.S. pressure tactics, saying, “They say they want to negotiate, but if you truly intended to negotiate, why did you commit these follies?”
He criticized U.S. claims that Iran destabilizes the region, arguing that “Israel, with American backing, is the real source of insecurity, bombing innocent people in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, and wherever it wants.”
Referring to the International Criminal Court’s case against the heads of the Israeli regime over alleged war crimes, Pezeshkian denounced the U.S. for defending Israel while taking action against the court.
“The U.S. claims to seek peace, but who has truly disrupted the region? Who is responsible for massacre and destruction in the region? What free-minded person in the world accepts the bombing of women, children, and the sick?” he asked.
Emphasizing the need for national unity, Pezeshkian said Iran’s success lies in solidarity, echoing the words of the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini and Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei.
“If we stand together, we can overcome all challenges, and the US will only dream of bringing us down,” he asserted.
Addressing Iranians, the president pledged to combat injustice, poverty, and economic hardship with the guidance of the country’s Leader. / Mehr
