Iran to invest $750mn in rail-transport industry

TEHRAN, Apr. 20 (MNA) – A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was inked on Sunday in the rail and transport industry of the country, valued at $750 million, with the participation of Iran’s minister of roads and urban development.

EghtesadOnline: The signing ceremony was also attended by the chief executive of the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways, private sector investors, and activists of the rail and transport industry.

Under the agreement signed, 600 tanked freight wagons, 300 diesel self-propelled passenger wagons, and 50 locomotives will be purchased, the website of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development reported.
