Speaking to reporters on Monday ahead of his departure to Doha for an emergency summit of Islamic and Arab leaders convened at the invitation of Qatar’s emir, Pezeshkian described the Israeli regime’s recent attacks —including the bombing of Doha— as clear violations of all international laws and norms.

“Israel, in the course it is following, recognizes no framework or prohibition for itself,” he said, warning that the regime has targeted multiple Islamic countries, from Lebanon and Syria to Qatar, Iran, Yemen, and Iraq, while committing a humanitarian catastrophe and genocide in Gaza that has claimed the lives of children, women, and the elderly.

The Iranian president criticized the backing of Israeli atrocities by the US and certain European countries, and expressed hope that leaders at the Doha summit would reach a unified stance, reinforcing political cohesion and solidarity across the Muslim world in response to the Zionist regime’s ongoing aggression.

Pezeshkian stressed the importance of utilizing international and legal frameworks and organizations to confront the Israeli crimes, noting that political, economic, cultural, and social unity among Islamic nations would allow for practical measures —including the potential severing of ties with the fake Zionist regime.

The president’s remarks highlight Iran’s push for a comprehensive, legally grounded response to the Israeli regime’s actions, emphasizing both accountability through international mechanisms and the strategic value of unity among Muslim nations in confronting aggression.

The Israeli regime on September 9 struck Hamas’s leadership in the Qatari capital, an act of aggression that has drawn widespread international condemnation.

Hamas confirmed that five of its members, including the son of senior leader Khalil al-Hayya, were martyred in the strike. A member of Qatar’s security forces was also killed./tasnim
