The two countries are advancing plans to diversify trade routes and boost bilateral commerce by creating a new transit-transport corridor linking them via Iranian territory.

The initiative was strongly welcomed during a high-level meeting between Kazakh Ambassador to Oman Haidarbek Tumatov and Abdulrahman al-Hatmi, Director General of Oman’s National Transport and Logistics Company.

Trend news agency reported that the talks focused extensively on enhancing logistics cooperation and increasing bilateral foreign trade. A key proposal under discussion was the development of a new corridor crossing Iran to provide direct land and sea links between Central Asia and the Arabian Peninsula. The two sides also explored the possibility of establishing a joint Kazakhstan–Oman logistics company to facilitate such efforts.

According to participants, the Omani side was fully receptive to these ideas and expressed eagerness toward the Kazakh delegation’s proposals.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to maintain working-level contacts and advance transport initiatives./isna
