
Iran, EAEU to expand trade ties: Minister

Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade, Mohammad Atabak, in a meeting with the prime ministers of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), emphasized the importance of expanding trade with regional countries, particularly EA.
Atabak, who heads the Iran-Belarus Joint Economic Commission, participated in the meeting of the Council of Prime Ministers and held intensive talks with ministers and senior economic and industrial officials of Belarus.
“The future of our region depends on the will of its leaders and on decisions made in line with the national interests of our people,” he said.
He highlighted the importance of utilizing new technologies and fostering convergence among regional countries through scientific collaboration.
The Islamic Republic of Iran, relying on its scientific and technological capacities, is determined to open a new horizon for sustainable and peaceful development alongside its neighbors and partners.
Undoubtedly, this path leads toward a future where science, industry, and technology serve the welfare of nations and promote peaceful coexistence, Atabak noted.
He stressed that new technologies will shape the future of nations and elevate the region’s position in the world through sustainable regional development.
Atabak described the exchange of knowledge, experience, and joint investment in the field of artificial intelligence as a means to strengthen technological supply chains and advance domestic innovation.
He also emphasized that EAEU’s international cooperation in establishing common standards, training specialized labor, and developing digital infrastructure will accelerate progress toward realizing the Fourth Industrial Revolution./mehr
