FM Calls for Legislation to Support Iranian Expats

In comments at a meeting with members of the Iranian Parliament’s Faction for Supporting Iranians Abroad, held at the Foreign Ministry on Monday, Araqchi said that the love and attachment to Iran is the shared bond connecting all Iranians worldwide.

He noted that such unity and patriotism were vividly demonstrated during the 12-day war in June, when the Iranian nation resisted the military aggression of the Zionist regime and the United States.

Highlighting the scientific and technological potential of Iranian expatriates, the foreign minister called for practical programs to encourage their participation in the country’s economic and scientific development.

Araqchi further emphasized the importance of enhancing the role of Iranians abroad in national decision-making, particularly through participation in presidential elections.

He said coordination is underway with relevant authorities to assess the feasibility of postal or electronic voting for Iranians abroad, in order to facilitate their involvement in shaping the nation’s future./tasnim
