Iran, Mali FMs discuss expansion of bilateral ties

Mali’s Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop met with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Thursday evening on the sidelines of the NAM Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Kampala.

During the meeting, the two ministers discussed bilateral relations between Iran and Mali and explored ways to expand economic and trade cooperation.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to hold the Joint Economic Commission between the two countries at the earliest possible opportunity.

The two top diplomats also underlined the importance of enhancing cooperation between Iran and Mali within the United Nations and other international organizations.

The discussions further covered the importance of solidarity and cooperation among NAM member states to safeguard the rights and interests of the Global South, as well as Iran-Africa cooperation and the Palestine issue./mehr
