Egyptian FM Holds Talks with Iran’s Araqchi, IAEA Chief
Foreign Minister of Egypt Badr Abdelatty held separate telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Grossi.
According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the two calls, held on October 30, came as part of Egypt’s follow-up on developments related to the Iranian nuclear file and efforts to promote regional security and stability through peaceful solutions to the issue.
Abdelatty emphasized the importance of maintaining dialogue between the parties and resuming and strengthening cooperation between Iran and the IAEA based on the agreement signed in Cairo on September 9.
He also underlined the need to intensify contacts among all relevant stakeholders in the coming period.
The communications were made under the directives of the Egyptian president, with the aim of contributing to de-escalation efforts and promoting calm across the Middle East, the ministry said./tasnim
