UN Asks Iran to Keep Supporting Yemen Peace Efforts
The United Nations called on Iran to continue its supports for the UN’s role and efforts aimed at improving the situation in Yemen and advancing the peace process.
Hans Grundberg, the UN secretary general’s special envoy for Yemen, held a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in Muscat on Monday.
The UN envoy presented a report on the developments related to Yemen and emphasized the need for Iran’s continued supports for the UN’s role and initiatives to help improve conditions and pursue the peace process in the Arab country.
Araqchi, for his part, condemned the Zionist regime’s acts of aggression and attacks against the regional countries, noting that these atrocities occur alongside the ongoing blockade and sanctions imposed on Yemen.
The Iranian foreign minister also warned against the consequences of the Israeli regime’s violations of law that spread insecurity and instability across the region./tasnim
