Speaking on Saturday at a ceremony marking Transport Week, Pezeshkian described routes and access ways as the country’s vital arteries.

“We are determined to reform the main transport network of the country by applying the latest international standards and to develop the necessary infrastructure,” he said.

He emphasized that the administration’s approach goes beyond superficial measures, noting that main, semi-main and downstream networks must all be improved and upgraded to global standards.

“The goal is not merely to do something, but to ensure quality. All work must be carried out with appropriate quality and by using up-to-date technologies,” the president said.

Pezeshkian also underlined the administration’s commitment to facilitating private sector activity in the transport sector, saying no effort would be spared in this regard.

He cautioned that development decisions must be based on a comprehensive view of the entire network, and that focusing on one area while neglecting others would create problems in the coming years.

Referring to existing legislation, Pezeshkian said parliamentary laws have provided a solid framework for unified management.

“We are in the process of integrating the management of the entire transport sector. Globally, all networks are also run under a single, unified command,” he added./irna
