Iran to not respond to pressures to let inspection of sites
The Iranian nuclear chief has said that his country will not respond to the political pressures to allow the IAEA inspectors to inspect the nuclear facilities that were bombed in the June aggression.
Speaking to reporters after attending a regular cabinet meeting on Wednesday at the Presidential Compound, Mohammad Eslami, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) reacted to the IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi's recent remarks, saying that "These statements show that Grossi is playing a role on the enemy's court."
Referring to last night's UN Security Council meeting and the points raised in it, the AEOi head said, "We can no longer say that the points raised in this meeting are regrettable. Rather, we should be happy that the role and pressure that the Americans have exerted on Iran's nuclear industry over the past 25 years has become completely clear today. In their National Security Strategy document, they clearly wrote that they will not pursue American interests through international organizations, and that the law of the jungle and force will continue to be on their agenda."
He stressed that "Resolution 2231 has expired," as the Russian and Chinese envoys confirmed in last night's UNSC meeting.
"Our nuclear activities are totally peaceful," he underscored.
Eslami went on to stress that the IAEA needs to make it clear why it remained silent in the face of the US-Israeli aggression on Iran nuclear facilities while they were under constant monitoring.
He added that the IAEA needs to make it clear why it wants inspection of Iran's nuclear site while it refused to condemn the aggression. "Unless this issue is made clear, political and psychological pressure and irrelevant pursuits to re-inspect the bombed facilities and complete the enemy's operations are not acceptable and will not be responded to," he underscored./mehr
