Iran Opens Largest Plasma-Stimulated Wound Healing Clinic in Isfahan
Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Mohammad Eslami on Thursday inaugurated the country’s largest plasma-stimulated wound healing clinic in Isfahan, designed to treat complex and chronic wounds using advanced plasma technology.
Speaking to reporters at the inauguration of Iran’s 12th plasma therapy center, Eslami said the newly opened facility in Isfahan is the largest plasma treatment complex in the country.
He explained that the center has been equipped with both outpatient and inpatient wards and has been specifically designed to treat patients suffering from chronic diabetic wounds, which in some cases lead to limb amputation, as well as infectious wounds following cancer surgeries.
Highlighting the advancements in plasma therapy across Iran, the AEOI chief said that over the past two years, some 2,500 patients have been treated at such clinics, and the process is continuing.
Combining radiopharmaceuticals with modern therapeutic technologies has opened a new chapter in the health sector, he stated.
According to Eslami, Iran is moving on par with, and in some cases ahead of, advanced countries in many fields, including the production of radiopharmaceuticals, which he described as a source of pride for the Iranian nation./tasnim
