Araghchi: Iran FM facilitates economic interaction with neighbors

Speaking in a meeting of Iranian Entrepreneurship Association in Tehran on Monday, Iran’s top diplomat emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the private sector will ease the path of cooperation with foreign partners, especially with the regional and neighboring countries. 

During the meeting, Araghchi exchanged views with entrepreneurs of the private sector in advancing the economic diplomacy.

Emphasizing the importance of the economic issues in the foreign policy, Araghchi underlined, “Making effort to remove sanctions imposed against the country and helping improve economic situation are the two important missions of the ministry.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, he pointed to the approach taken by the country’s diplomatic apparatus in backing the economic projects, noting that resolving the banking, transportation and legal bottlenecks as well as facilitating the path of cooperation with foreign partners are the main topics of this approach.

The foreign minister also described the role of entrepreneurs and economic activists as pivotal in strengthening national capacity, noting that by supporting the private sector and facilitating economic interactions, the Foreign Ministry helps make cooperation with foreign partners—especially in the region and with neighboring countries—smoother and more effective.

In the meeting, members of the association raised their proposals and views on the challenges and obstacles of economic activities, emphasizing the necessary of strengthening interaction between private sector and diplomacy apparatus./isna
