People’s economic activities safeguard national security: Ghalibaf
Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf says that any economic activity carried out by different segments of society, from workers to employers, is considered a strategic action to safeguard Iran’s dignity and national security, as adversaries do not want the country to remain independent.
Ghalibaf made the remarks on Tuesday while addressing a gathering of laborers and employers at Imam Khomeini’s Mausoleum, south of Tehran.
He said that when adversaries fail to exert military pressure against Iran, they turn to economic pressure to create problems for the production sector and people’s livelihoods, adding that this is where workers and employers must step in to counter such attempts.
“In other words, the activities of laborers, economic players, investors, and employers constitute a strategic action for national security and the country’s dignity,” the speaker noted, emphasizing that no power will be able to defeat Iran in the military, economic, livelihood, or cultural spheres if the Iranian people stand firm.
Ghalibaf also expressed confidence that Parliament and the administration of President Masoud Pezeshkian are working closely together to curb the soaring dollar prices as part of efforts to improve people’s livelihoods and address the economic challenges they face./irna
