Iran envoy says Tehran-Riyadh ties solid, immune to disruption
Iran’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia says relations between Tehran and Riyadh are strong and cannot be undermined, stressing the two countries’ shared interest in regional security and stability.
Alireza Enayati, Iran’s ambassador in Riyadh, told the Saudi daily Asharq Al-Awsat that both sides are committed to preserving regional calm and avoiding actions that could fuel tensions.
He said Iran believes regional stability serves the interests of all Middle Eastern countries, a view he said has been repeatedly affirmed in meetings with Saudi officials.
Enayati said consultations between the two countries are continuing in a way that serves their mutual interests as well as those of the wider region. From Saudi Arabia’s perspective, he said, Iran is seen as a reliable partner, while Tehran views Saudi Arabia as an important and influential regional actor.
Cooperation between the two countries on issues of shared concern contributes to strengthening regional security and stability, Enayati added, saying the durability of Tehran-Riyadh ties is underpinned by the leadership of both countries and their understanding of the need for sustained and constructive relations./irna
