Egypt FM: Cairo is supporting to reach agreed solution on Iran’s nuclear file

Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, in separate phone calls with his Omani counterpart, Badr bin Hamad Al-Busaidi, and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi, has emphasized Cairo’s support for efforts to reduce tensions in the region and to achieve an agreed solution regarding Iran’s nuclear file.

Abdelatty held separate phone conversations with Al-Busaidi and Grossi to discuss the latest developments in Iran’s nuclear program and the negotiations that took place between the United States and Iran in Muscat, as reported by the Egyptian news website Sada El-Balad on Friday.

While appreciating Oman’s significant and constructive role in hosting and facilitating indirect talks between Iran and the US, Abdelatty emphasized Egypt’s ongoing efforts to reduce tensions and manage the unstable conditions in the region.

He reiterated that Cairo will continue to support all initiatives and efforts aimed at reducing tensions and achieving an agreed solution regarding Iran’s nuclear issues. This solution should consider the concerns and interests of all parties involved and contribute to enhancing regional security and stability, he added.

Additionally, Abdelatty stressed the importance of utilizing the outcomes from the Iran-US negotiations to prevent the region from entering new cycles of instability.

For his part, Al-Busaidi appreciated Egypt’s sustained efforts and intensive diplomatic contacts in recent weeks, describing Cairo’s role in bringing closer the views of the different parties and paving the way for starting negotiations as effective and constructive. He also praised Egypt’s diplomatic moves aimed at reducing tensions in the region.

In another phone call, Abdelatty and IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi discussed the latest developments in Iran’s nuclear program.

Egypt’s Foreign Minister reiterated Cairo’s commitment to reducing regional tensions and emphasized the importance of continued regional and international cooperation to promote diplomatic solutions.

He also underlined that Egypt will continue its intensive consultations and efforts to achieve solutions that lead to the enhancement of regional and international security and stability./irna
