Pezeshkian congratulates national wrestling teams on Zagreb Open 2026 success

President Masoud Pezeshkian has congratulated Iran’s Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling teams after strong performances at the United World Wrestling (UWW) 2026 Zagreb Open in Croatia.

In a message on Monday, Pezeshkian hailed the Greco-Roman team’s championship title and the freestyle team’s runner-up finish, offering congratulations to the Iranian people, the wrestling community, athletes, coaches and technical staff.

He said that the brilliant performance of the national wrestling teams once again demonstrated “the capability, self-belief and merit” of the Iranian athletes.

The president added that the results showed Iranian wrestling remained on a path of growth and progress, supported by expertise, discipline and a strong sense of sportsmanship./irna
