UAE Welcomes Iran-US Talks
The United Arab Emirates hailed the resumption of diplomatic engagement between Iran and the United States, underlining its commitment to regional stability, security, and de-escalation.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister for Political Affairs and Envoy of the UAE Foreign Minister, who was visiting Tehran to attend the second meeting of the Iran-UAE Political Consultations Committee, held a meeting on Monday.
In the meeting, Nusseibeh expressed satisfaction with the useful and constructive negotiations held with Iran’s deputy foreign minister for political affairs, and emphasized her country’s determination to pursue the development of bilateral Iran-UAE relations in various fields, particularly in economic and trade sectors.
She also welcomed the restart of diplomatic interactions between Iran and the US in Muscat, and reiterated the UAE’s focus on regional stability and security as well as efforts to reduce tensions.
Araqchi, for his part, referred to the good and wide-ranging relations between Iran and the UAE in different areas, especially economic and commercial fields, and stated Iran’s readiness to further expand ties in line with the shared and mutual interests of the two countries.
He also praised the resolve of regional countries to help ease tensions and safeguard peace and stability in the region, expressing appreciation for their diplomatic efforts and constructive initiatives in this regard.
The two diplomats additionally exchanged views on regional and international developments, stressing the importance of strengthening regional stability and security through dialogue and diplomatic solutions, and underscoring the need for the continuation of consultations and contacts between Iran and the UAE./tasnim
