Top General Warns US of Consequences of Any War on Iran

The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces dismissed recent remarks by US President Donald Trump as reckless, warning that any military confrontation would lead to consequences that would prevent Washington from repeating such rhetoric.

Reacting to the recent positions taken by Trump, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi said on Sunday that the remarks of a president who claims to represent a superpower are not befitting of a head of state and described them as irresponsible.

If Trump truly intends to wage war, why is he simultaneously speaking of negotiations, the top commander said.

Trump should understand that entering into a conflict with Iran would result in an instructive battle, the outcome of which would ensure that he would no longer engage in bluster on the global stage, Major General Mousavi warned./tasnim
