Araqchi, Lavrov Discuss Global Developments

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi held a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov to discuss bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments.

During the phone call on Friday, Araqchi outlined the positions of Iran regarding nuclear-related issues, emphasizing Iran’s seriousness in pursuing talks aimed at reaching a fair and balanced agreement, while safeguarding Iran’s rights and interests in accordance with the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).

The top Iranian diplomat also expressed appreciation for Russia’s constructive and positive positions in international forums.

Araqchi also briefed Lavrov on the latest developments related to the process of nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States.
