Baqaei: Kurds are guardians of borders and backbone of Iran’s power

Esmaeil Baqaei, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has said the people of Kurdestan, through their resilience, understanding, and high political awareness, have played a very valuable role in protecting the country’s borders and frustrating the enemies.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with IRNA in Sanandaj on Friday, Baqaei reacting to repeated statements by US’ officials regarding Kurds, and said: “We have never paid attention to foreigners' comments about our fellow citizens.”

We know how Iranians including Kurds, Lors, Turks, Baloch, and Persians love their homeland, he added.

These claims are a sign of desperation and a lack of understanding of the Iranian people, he stressed.

The enemy resorts to every plot to achieve its illegitimate goals and interests, he stated./irna
