Addressing a ceremony commemorating late Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, held in Tehran on Wednesday and attended by families of victims of the recent US-Israeli war of aggression, Pezeshkian referred to the miscalculations of adversaries in confronting the Iranian nation.

The president said those who designed policies of pressure and destabilization had assumed that their measures would quickly break the will of the Iranian people, but the effective and intelligent presence of the public in the field had caused all such calculations to fail, demonstrating that Iran’s social capital remains its greatest guarantee of security and progress.

The president reiterated that the Iranian nation would never surrender in the face of attacks on its dignity, independence, or territorial integrity. At the same time, he said the Islamic Republic’s strategy is based on safeguarding national interests, preserving the country’s dignity, and seeking to reduce tensions and move away from costly and exhausting conditions. He added that war is not in the interest of any nation, but defending dignity, security, and national interests remains an inviolable principle.

Pezeshkian further stressed the need to move beyond a “neither war nor peace” situation, stating that while war is certainly not in the country’s interest, Iran would not accept or yield to any attempt to violate its dignity, land, or territory.

He emphasized that those who harbor such expectations should abandon them, underscoring that Iran would not back down in this regard./tasnim
