Tehran Stock Exchange Rallies Beyond Historical 5-Million-Point Mark
The main index of the Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) continued its rapid, multi-day upward momentum on Tuesday, surging by more than 119,000 points to break through the historical 5-million-point threshold.
The Tehran Stock Exchange recorded a monumental milestone during today's trading session on June 16, 026. The benchmark TEDPIX index jumped by 119,901 points, or nearly 2.4%, to settle at an all-time high of 5,100,000 points.
The total trading value in the market today reached an extraordinary figure of over 480 trillion rials (approximately 48 hemat), driven by a highly active trading volume that saw the total number of transactions stall at 1,448,000 trades.
The equal-weighted index, which reflects the performance of smaller and medium-sized listed companies more accurately, also experienced a significant boost, climbing by 15,000 points to finish the day at 1,351,000 points. The major market tickers that exerted the highest positive impact on the main index today included Fars (Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industry), Fmeli (National Iranian Copper Industries), Webmellat (Mellat Bank), Shabandar (Bandar Abbas Oil Refining), Vapasar (Pasargad Bank), and Shasta (Social Security Investment Company).
In tandem with the main market, the over-the-counter Iran Fara Bourse (IFB) also registered meaningful growth, with its main index rising to 38,420 units. The total number of transactions processed on the Fara Bourse platform reached 637,871 trades. The prominent symbols driving the upward momentum on the IFB included Aryan, Vmapna, Kgoohar, Sharanl, Arfa, Zagros, and Sheguya.
Market analysts note that the consecutive record-breaking trading values and exceptionally high transaction volumes seen in recent days firmly indicate that substantial liquidity continues to pour into and actively circulate within the capital market./isna
