The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters issued a statement Saturday afternoon, noting that the strategic strait along the coasts of Iran and Oman will be closed to all traffic again over the US failure to implement the first clause of the MoU to end the war.

According to the statement, the decision was taken in view of the US’s blatant breach of the agreed clauses, and in response to the unabated and continuous violation of the ceasefire by the Israeli regime in southern Lebanon, the brutal killing and displacement of oppressed people there, as well as well as the failure of the occupying forces to withdraw from southern Lebanon.

Calling the closure of the Strait of Hurmuz the first step in response to the enemy's breach of promise, the Iranian Armed Forces warned that further steps would be taken to force the enemy to comply with its obligations.

The MoU, digitally and remotely signed by the presidents of Iran and the United States on Thursday, clearly mentions the immediate and permanent termination of war on all fronts, including in Lebanon, with both sides undertaking that no one would initiate any war or military operation against each other, while ensuring the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Lebanon.  /irna
