Pezeshkian congratulates new IRGC Navy commander
President Masoud Pezeshkian has congratulated Rear Admiral Ali Ozamayi on his appointment as commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy, saying the force would continue to play a key role in protecting Iran’s maritime borders and national interests.
In a message on Tuesday, Pezeshkian said he was confident Ozamayi’s experience and judgment would enable the IRGC Navy to carry out its responsibilities with foresight and strength.
“Security of the country’s maritime borders and safeguarding the interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran at sea are an important part of national interests and the country’s strategic power,” Pezeshkian said.
He said regional and international developments had highlighted the importance of waterways surrounding Iran more than ever, making command of the IRGC Navy a particularly important and sensitive responsibility.
Pezeshkian also paid tribute to Ozamayi’s predecessor, Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, who was martyred the in US-Israeli attacks against Iran.
The Iranian president wished Ozamayi success in carrying out his assigned missions./irna
