UN envoy in Tehran ahead of Syria peace talks

He is due to exchange views with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari on crisis and the latest developments in Syria, ahead of the resumption of the peace talks on the war-stricken country, reports ILNA.

In his previous trip to Iran on April, UN official met and conferred with Iran’s high-ranking officials.

The crisis in Syria reached its fifth year, while active and effective regional and international actors have not found a common understanding for a solution to settle the crisis.This is while the Islamic Republic of Iran, since the beginning of the conflict in Syria, has urged the Syrian-Syrian dialogue as the only political way to solve the crisis.
