Iran, Russia enjoy strategic ties

EghtesadOnline: Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi said here on Monday that Iran and Russia do not have any agreement on the use of Iranian Nojeh Airbase in western province of Hamedan by the Russian side, but bilateral ties in certain areas are strategic.
Speaking in a press conference, Qassemi also reiterated that the level of Iran-Russia relations have been increased during the past years.
According to IRNA, Qassemi noted that Iran and Russia share common viewpoints on battling terrorism and extremist activities of Takfiri groups.
'The regional security, Iran's in particular, is very important for us,' he said, adding,'We spare no efforts for safeguarding the country's security.'
Commenting on the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu recent short visit to Tehran, he cited the visit as fruitful.
Qasemi reiterated that Cavusoglu and his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif held a five-hour meeting and discussed the ways of following up agreements and consultations held between the two countries in Zarif's visit to Ankara last week.
He underscored that so far no date has been set for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to Tehran, adding the exact date would be announced later.
