Iran has come to terms with Armenia, Georgia, Turkey to cancel visa

Asked about similar agreement with the Azerbaijan Republic to cancel visa for tourists from either country, Qassemi said that visa cancellation was not on the agenda and that Azerbaijan has pledged to ease visa requirements for Iranian nationals.

He said that the Foreign Ministry is interested in a series of facilities to be adopted with several countries to cancel visa for the tourists, according to IRNA.

He said that during a visit to Baku, President Hassan Rouhani could not raise the offer to ease visa requirements with Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev, because, he was involved in pre-planned negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin and President Aliyev in tripartite meeting in Baku. 

On lifting travel ban to Turkey by Iranian Foreign Ministry, Qassemi said that the ministry had banned tour operators from sending tourists to Turkey amid grave security situation in the country until the restoration of peace and stability in Turkey. 

All the roads to a country cannot be blocked for an explosion, the spokesman said, adding, 'We cannot officially impose bans and inflict costs on tourism industry and tourists and tour operators.' 

Iranians are wise enough not to make unnecessary travels to Turkey and choose their destinations accurately, he said. 

Asked to comment about an upcoming visit to New York by Foreign Minister Zarif and whether he will meet with his US counterpart John Kerry, Qassemi said that the visit will be held based on previous planning but it's not yet clear with whom the foreign minister will meet during his New York visit.
