Iran expresses consent over Pakistan’s proposal for FTA: Pak Min.
EghtesadOnline: Pakistan Minister for Commerce says Iranian government has expressed consent over offer of Free Trade Agreement (FTA) from Pakistan and negotiations are in progress for fulfilling official requirements to finalize the accord between two neighbouring countries.
Khurram Dastagir Khan made the remark during a meeting with officials of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KPCCI) in Peshawar, according to IRNA.
Pakistan had floated the proposal of signing of FTA between Pakistan and Iran during visit of Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani to our country a few months earlier, Khurram said.
After a passage of five months, Iranian government has conveyed its consent over the proposal and now negotiations are in progress for fulfilling official requirements which may take few months, he added.
A few days back, in an interview with IRNA, the Pakistani minister said the federal cabinet would give a final approval to the MoU regarding resumption of Iran-Pakistan banking relation, which means an end to obstacles in banking relations between the two neighbors.
