Baghdad terror attacks casualty figures reach 35 killed, 40 injured

EghtesadOnline: At least 35 people have been killed and 40 others injured in two terrorist attacks that struck a mall in east of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, sources said on Saturday.

According to IRNA, the Iraqi officials have not so far confirmed the exact number of casualties in the twin explosion in Al-Nakheel Mall in Palestine Street in eastern Baghdad. 

According to Iraqi security officials, a car with explosives blew up at the car park of al-Nakheel Mall and shortly afterwards an assailant explode his explosive-laden car at the busy street outside the mall building.

Iraqi security officials believe that another assailant, who also has been present in the scene, seems to be running away. 

At present, the Iraqi police has also cordoned off the Palestine Street and the neighboring regions and transportation of cars have been stopped.

According to Reuters, Deash terrorists have claimed responsibility for the assaults.
