Iran ranks 2nd in Asian Football Confederation U-16 Champs
EghtesadOnline: Iran ranked second in Asian Football Confederation U-16 Championships at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa, India, on Sunday.
Iraq managed to defeat Iran 4-3 via penalty shootout to win the first title.
The two sides could not produce any goal at the end of the 90-minute regulation time. No extra time was awarded and penalty shootout was ordered, reports IRNA.
So far, the Iranian youth football team has managed to stand the second place in Asian Football Confederation U-16 Championships in 2000 and 2008.
