Supreme Leader outlines election policies
EghtesadOnline: Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Saturday outlined an 18-point election policy for the country.
According to Article 110 of Iran’s Constitution, Supreme Leader issued the decree following consultations with the country's Expediency Council.
Stipulating the electoral constituencies of Parliament and City Councils based on population, banning foreign funding for electoral campaigns, and preventing electoral offences are among the topics of election policies outlined by the Supreme Leader.
Also, safegurading the freedom and fairness of elections, banning armed forces and security organizations from getting involved in election campagins, and using modern technologies to give more transparency to elections are some other points outlined by the leader, according to IRNA.
The leader has assigned the Council of Guardians to supervise presidential, Majlis and the Experts Assembly elections in different stages of these elections.
