Zarif: Iran ready to cooperate with Lebanon incumbent, next gov'ts
EghtesadOnline: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Tuesday that the Islamic Republic of Iran is keen on cooperation with the Lebanese incumbent government and the next government due to be formed by Prime Minister Saad Hariri.
He made the remarks after a meeting with Lebanese new Prime Minister Saad Hariri, IRNA reported.
Zarif told reporters that he Zionist regime and extremism posed threats to Iran and Lebanon.
'We are ready to cooperate with all the Lebanese people and political parties to thwart menaces of terrorism and the Israeli threats to Lebanon.'
He said that he and Saad Hariri reviewed the humanitarian crises in the region and the need to bring closer the views of main regional players to find a lasting settlement to the crises.
After his two-day visit to Lebanon, the foreign minister will begin his tour of East European states which will take him to Romania, Slovenia and the Czech Republic.
