Iran 44th flotilla in Atlantic Ocean for the first time
EghtesadOnline: Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said the 44th flotilla consisting of Alvand and Bushehr destroyers would sail the African continent and enter the Atlantic Ocean for the first time.
Commander Sayyari stated that IRAN IS planning to expand naval presence in international waters, adding the deployment of the 44th flotilla of warships in the international waters indicates the Iranian Navy's might and power.
He went on to say that the Iranian Navy would definitely be present in the Atlantic Ocean in the near future, according to ISNA.
Iranian official underlined that having mutual visits to other countries, including the coastal countries of the Indian Ocean and the African countries would be among the navy’s plans.
He also expressed readiness to hold joint naval drills with the neighboring countries.
