Iran rejects Saudi fake espionage allegation

EghtesadOnline: Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi rejected Saudi Arabia’s recent baseless espionage allegation against Iran.

Qasemi criticized the Saudi court for sentencing 15 people to death alleging that they spied for Iran, and said the Islamic Republic is not involved in any activity against the international rules in Saudi Arabia.

Accordidng to ISNA, he underlined that spreading false accusations, which are far from the truth, would lead to more tension in the region.

Iranian official stated that the Saudi leaders have not informed Iran about the identity of the Iranian defendant, noting Iran’s policy is mutual respect and non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries.

Saudi media reported that the Specialized Criminal Court in Riyadh sentenced 15 people to death and 15 other to prison terms ranging from six months to 25 years, accused of spying for Iran.
