Iranian woman shines in FIDE World Chess Rapid Champs in Doha

EghtesadOnline: For the first time, an Iranian chess player finished fourth in the Fédération Internationale des Échecs (FIDE) Woman's World Chess Rapid Championships in Doha, it was announced on Friday evening.
Sara Sadat Khadem al-Sharieh also stood 18th in the FIDE Woman's World Chess Blitz Championships in Doha.
Meanwhile, Iranian chess player Parham Maqsoodloo managed to win 11.5 points in the FIDE Man's World Chess Blitz Championships in Doha, according to IRNA.
The championships opened in Doha in Dec 26 attended by 106 men and 34 women chess players.
In February 2016, Khadem al-Sharieh also ranked second in the Fédération Internationale des Échecs (FIDE) Grand Prix in Iran
The championships attracted several female grandmasters and international masters from different countries of the world, including Bulgaria, China, Georgia, India, Russia, Sweden and Ukraine.
