Removing obstacles in Iran-Germany banking interaction is vital
EghtesadOnline: Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American Affairs Majid Takht-Ravanchi on Tuesday called for expansion of Iran-Germany relations and removing obstacles in the way of banking interaction between the two capitals.
According to a report by Foreign Ministry, the Iranian diplomat who is currently in Germany, discussed Tehran-Berlin ties as well major regional and international developments in a meeting with German State Secretary Markus Ederer in Berlin.
Ederer, for his part, underlined remarkable growth in Iran-Germany relations, especially after the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in January 2016, according to ILNA.
He voiced his country’s readiness for promoting cooperation in all fields, economy in particular, with Iran.
Ederer also said that German companies are interested to invest in Iran to transfer modern technologies to the country.
During the meeting, both officials stressed the need for heeding diplomatic solutions to establish peace and stability in the region as well as keeping consultations to this end and cooperation in the sphere of humanitarian aid.
Ravanchi and also reviewed the process of execution of JCPOA in the past one year and presented a comprehensive analysis of achievements got, the challenges met and the obstacles on the way forward.
He pointed to breach of JCPOA by the US and called for Europe's active cooperation for successful execution of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action particularly in banking field.
Takht-e Ravanchi discussed the latest developments in relations between Iran-Europe, Iran-Germany, as well as the issues related to Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, Iraq and the Persian Gulf.
