Iran ranks 1st in Freestyle World Wrestling Cup
EghtesadOnline: Iran’s freestyle wrestling team overpowered US squad 5-3 and won the final match of the 45th round of the Freestyle Wrestling World Cup held in Western Iran.
The Iranian squad managed to defeat its Mongolian rival 7-1 to reach the final stage.
The prestigious competition started in Kermanshah on Thursday (Feb 16) with a match between Iranian and Turkish wrestlers, IRNA reported.
Eight top world wrestling teams including Iran, Russia, US, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Mongolia and India attended the two-day international event.
US ranked second and Azerbaijan team stood on the third place.
The 45th round of the 2017 Freestyle World Cup was held with the attendance of eight top world teams in Kermanshah Province on February 16-17.
