Four Iranian Paralympic athletes enter Guinness Book of World Records

EghtesadOnline: The names of four Iranian Paralympic athletes and one team registered in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Siamand Rahman, whose earlier record in 2011stood at 291 kilograms, pushed an incredible 280kg and gained gold medal at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Another name that was added to Guinness Book of World Records is Majid Farzin who successfully lifted 240 kg during Rio 2016 Paralympic Games and won the gold, ISNA reported.

The only woman whose name was listed in Guinness Book of World Records is Zahra Nemati for her total 622 scores during Republic of Czech 2010 women’s individual recurve and becoming the champion in London Paralympic Games.

Iran’s tallest national and a member of sitting volleyball team Morteza Mehrzad, with a height of 246 centimeters, holds the record of the tallest athlete ever participating in Paralympic Games.

 Moreover, Iran’s sitting volleyball team named as the most successful team in Paralympic history by winning the first place in 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2008 and 2016.
