Iranian Junior Weightlifting Team wins World Championship for second consecutive year

EghtesadOnline: Iranian Junior Weightlifting Team won the World Championship title for the second consecutive year, although ranked sixth in the medal ranking.
2017 International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Junior World Championships wrapped up in Japan on Friday and Iranian Weightlifting Team grabbing 423 points won the title of championship, ISNA reported.
The Iranian squad stood on top of the podium with 423 points followed by the Japanese outfit, which accumulated 394 points to be named the vice champion. China garnered 391 points and ranked third.
Iranian representatives Reza Biralvand, Ali Davoudi and Rahman Ourameh featured great performances at the IWF Junior World Championships, and collected six medals, including 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.
President Hassan Rouhani later extended his congratulations on the Iranian weightlifters’ outstanding achievement at the world championships.
The 2017 IWF Junior World Championships began in Tokyo, Japan, on June 15 and finished on June 23.
The tournament brought together a total of 265 male and female athletes from 50 countries.
