Iranian Karate team wins Asian Championships title

EghtesadOnline: Iranian national Karate teams for the first time won the title in all four age categories in the Asian Championships.
Iranian delegation claimed a tally of 42 medals including 20 gold, 12 silver and 10 bronze medals in the 16th Asian Karate Federation (AKF) Cadet, Junior, U-21 and 14th AKF Senior Championships.
According to ISNA, the Japanese teams claimed 16 gold medals, eight silvers and 14 bronzes in the two categories.
Kazakhstan finished in third place with eight gold, six silver and 13 bronze medals.
The 14th Senior Karate-do Asian Championships and 16th Kadet and Junior Karate-do Asian Championships started in the Kazakh capital city of Astana on July 13, and wrapped up on July 16, 2017.
A total of 660 male and female karate practitioners from 27 Asian countries, including Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Thailand and Uzbekistan, have taken part in the event.
