Iranian Online Shop for Handicrafts

EghtesadOnline: A new online platform has been launched by a startup that connects handicraft makers and craftsmen with buyers.

News ID: 746287

The startup ‘Cafekado’ (Persian for "gift cafe") has listed over 100 local handicraft makers and craftsmen connecting them to potential buyers through a business-to-consumer website cafekado.ir.

Categorized in smart menus, those interested can view more than 8,000 items made by local artisans living in different areas of the country.

Goods include clothes and scarves, mugs, dishes, shoes, decorative items, artificial flowers, desk and shelf clocks, and accessories like purses, wallets, artificial jewelry and more, according to Financial Tribune.

After picking the desired goods, customers pay online and receive the product at their doorstep.

If the customer is not satisfied with the purchase, the item(s) can be returned for a refund within a few days.

Cafekado aims to create a platform for less-known artisans and producers, allowing them to promote their business and charging them a small amount for the service. The platform also removes dealers and middlemen enabling producers to offer their products directly to buyers at competitive prices.
