New Chiefs for CAO, IranAir
EghtesadOnline: Touraj Dehqani Zanganeh will replace Ali Abedzadeh as the new head of the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran.
The new CEO was named in a Cabinet meeting chaired by President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday.
The veteran pilot has managed Iran’s flag carrier airline, IranAir, since May 2019. Zanganeh has more than 8,000 hours of flight under his belt, flying Airbus A319, A321, A320 and A340.
He previously served as the managing director of privately-owned Meraj Airlines.
Lieutenant commander of the Iranian Air Force, Brigadier General Alireza Barkhor, was appointed to replace Zanganeh to helm IranAir. He’s known as the youngest person to pilot Grumman F-14 Tomcat fighters during the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war, Fars News Agency reported.
