2.5 Million tonnes of Commodities Changed Hands on IME
EghtesadOnline: Within the week ending on August 25, 2023, the IME witnessed trade of 2,575,073 tonnes of commodities with a total trading value of more than 576 million USD on its physical market.
According to a report by the IME's International Affairs and PR, the exchange saw on its metals and minerals trading floor trade of 2,121,176 tonnes of commodities valued at more than 368 million USD.
On this floor the IME sold 1,143,029 tonnes of cement, 380,000 tonnes of iron ore, 318,300 tonnes of sponge iron, 274,882 tonnes of steel, 7,233 tonnes of copper, 5,300 tonnes of aluminum, 800 tonnes of cast iron, 300 tonnes of coke and 290 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate.
It's worth noting as well that the IME's agricultural trading floor saw trade of 800 kg of saffron.
Moreover, the IME witnessed on both domestic and export rings of its oil and petrochemical trading floor 429,651 tonnes of commodities worth nearly 198 million USD.
Commodities traded on this floor included 172,350 tonnes of bitumen, 105,000 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 97,795 tonnes of polymeric products, 35,601 tonnes of chemicals, 11,300 tonnes of sulfur, 5,404, tonnes of petroleum products, 3,737 tonnes of oil and 350 tonnes of feedstocks.
The IME also traded within the same week 24,246 tonnes of goods on its side market.
