Iran, Belarus sign agreement to enhance technology cooperation

EghtesadOnline: Iran and Belarus signed an agreement to enhance cooperation in a number of areas including advanced and innovative technologies.

Talking to IRNA on Friday, Iran’s Minister of Sciences, Research and Technology Mohammad Farhadi who heads the joint commission between the two countries said that Tehran and Minsk were keen to promote cooperation in various areas including technology.

He said high potential is existing between the two countries for mutual cooperation.

Referring to his meetings with ranking Belarusian officials, he said the two sides focused on paving the way for expanding scientific and research cooperation, holding training courses and seminars as well as workshops.

Iranian delegation headed by Farhadi arrived in Minsk on Wednesday and held talks with chancellors of several Belarusian universities and discussed mutual cooperation in various fields.

Iranian delegation also met with Iranians residing in Minsk. Some 1,600 Iranian students are studying medicine in Belarusian universities.
