Iran, Georgia stress widening ICT cooperation
EghtesadOnline: Iran and Georgia stressed boosting mutual cooperation in ICT.
Iranian Minister of Communications and IT Mahmoud Vazei met with Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Dimitri Kumsishvili.
According to ISNA, during the meeting, Vaezi referred to joint economic and commercial ties between Iran and Georgia, and said his country is ready to share information and experiences on ICT with Georgia.
“We are interested in transfer of technology, transit, better use of band width, training and launching e-government with Georgia,” he said.
He said that Iran is interested in selecting Georgia as one of its transit path given Tehran’s interests in diversified internet input and output path.
Dimitri Kumsishvili, for his part, highlighted Georgian good position in internet input and output path for other countries in ICT, and said his country is keen to share its progress in communications infrastructure and IT with Iran and other countries.
