Iran to triple gas exports to Armenia
EghtesadOnline: Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zangeneh said that the country’s gas exports to Armenia would be tripled.
Iran’s gas exports to Armenia would increase to 3 million cubic meters from one million cubic meters from late 2018, he said in a meeting with Armenian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Levon Yolyan here in Tehran, according to ISNA.
He also said that Iran has agreed to increase gas delivery to Armenia to 3.5 million cubic meters from one million cubic meters from late 2018 following request of Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan.
The Armenian made the request after the breakdown in Russian pipeline pumping gas to Armenia.
Iran used to receive 3 KW/h power from Armenia in return for each cubic meter of gas, and the amount has now increased to 3.2 Kw/h.
Iran and Armenia signed a gas and power buy-back deal in 2004 which lasts for 20 years.
