President Rouhani: Government hopeful for future of country

He made the remarks in a live Televised interview Tuesday evening, reports IRNA.

The President referred to measures taken by the government against corruption and said that fighting corruption and the high unconventional salaries will continue.

Referring to the difficulties government had in the previous Iranian calendar year (ended March 19, 2016), the President voiced hope for achieving a five-percent growth during the present Iranian calendar year (started March 2016).
Lauding the fact that the inflation rate has become single digit, he said that the country needs technology and investment for reaching the five percent growth rate and to achieve economic boom.

'Resistance Economy represents a way forward for us in order to achieve the economic boom and the JCPOA prepared the ground for the realization of this type of economy,' Rouhani said.

Export of non-oil products which is one of the issues emphasized in the Resistance Economy has been facilitated by the JCPOA, he said.

Rouhani noted that the Resistance Economy does not mean isolation and it means embracing a sustainable and knowledge- based economy.

Rouhani also hailed the Islamic Republic as maintaining a stabilizing role in the region.
Iran is an island of stability and it is going to have an effect on the stability and security of its neighbors.

'Iran will continue its efforts to resolve regional problems,' he said.
