President: Improving ties with Africa, high priority for Iran

EghtesadOnline: President Hassan Rouhani said Iran attached great importance to enhancing relations with African countries.

In a meeting with Burundi’s visiting Minister of External Relations and International Cooperation, Alain Aime Nyamitwe here on Tuesday, the President said the two countries shared many common goals and could back each other and cooperate in various international organizations.

He underlined the need for growing all-out relations between the two countries.

The Iranian President went on to note that terrorism, political interferences and military interventions of western countries in many parts of the world were the most important problems the world was facing and said that Iran and Burundi as two members of the Non-Aligned Movement should play their due roles in the international arena, reports IRNA.

President Rouhani further wished for establishment of sustainable peace in Brundi.

The Burundi official extended the written message of his president to Rouhani and hailed Iran’s support for people of Burundi.
