Hamas urges promotion of ties with Iran
EghtesadOnline: Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, in a recent statement has described promotion of ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran as important.
According to the statement by the Palestinian movement, Ali Baraka Hamas Representative in Lebanon and Mohammad Majedi, First Attaché of the Iranian embassy in Lebanon during their meeting discussed the Palestinian issue and bilateral ties, reports IRNA.
Following a decade of Gaza blockade, the continuation of Zionist aggressions against the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the mushrooming Zionist settlements in the West Bank make it inevitable that the Palestinian, including Hamas should strengthen and promote ties with Iran, Baraka said during the meeting with Iranian embassy official, said the statement.
The two sides emphasized the need for unifying the Islamic Ummah to stand against the Zionist enemy across the region and in Palestine, the statement said.
They also called for confronting the conspiracies plotted to abort the issue of Palestine, it said.
Majedi, on his part, emphasized continuation of the Islamic Republic's support for the Palestinian people, the resistance movement and the Palestinian Intifada against the Zionist occupation.
He also called for ending the Gaza blockade and aborting the plots by Israel to judaize the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Al-Quds.
